ORDINANCE 188 WATER SERVICE RATE AMENDMENT

The purpose of this notice is to inform the public that the Carson City Council is in the process of considering the final passage reading of Ordinance 188 which pertains to adjusting the rate of water service.

The CURRENT monthly rates for water service are:

Gallons Used Per Month

$5.50 (minimum bill)

Next 4,000

$4.50 per 1,000 gallons

Next 5,000

$4.25 per 1,000 gallons

All over 10,000

$4.00 per 1,000 gallons

The proposed new monthly rates for water service are:

$7.70 (minimum bill)

Next 4,000 gallons

$6.30 per 1,000 gallons

Next 5,000 gallons

$5.95 per 1,000 gallons

All over 10,000 gallons

$4.20 per 1,000 gallons

A comparison chart of surrounding area community's water rate schedules is posted at the post office, community center, Country Store, the Corral, and is available by request by contacting City Hall. The last time water rates were raised was in 2001.

The City Council will have one final reading of Ordinance 188 on November 13 th , 2007 at the Regular City Council Meeting at 7:30 PM, at the Community Center. Once the City Council passes the 3 rd and Final Reading of the ordinance it will be published in it's entirety and will then be in affect.
